Fatal stabbing at Harlem bodega sparks calls for panic button installations.

A man was repeatedly stabbed to death in Harlem early Saturday, adding to a growing series of fatal incidents at bodegas across New York City.

According to police, the 33-year-old man was discovered around 5:30 a.m. near 2640 8th Avenue with stab wounds to his back. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released his name, awaiting notification of his family.

At approximately 5 a.m., two men are seen conversing outside the store when a third man arrives, followed shortly by a fourth.

The discussion quickly escalates, and within moments, a fight breaks out.

One man is knocked to the ground but quickly rises as the fight moves onto 8th Avenue.

The confrontation turns into two attackers against one, with the man who was first punched pinned to the pavement.

At that point, another person seems to draw a knife and stab the victim multiple times in the back.

Police report that the assailant fled the scene and is still at large.

The incident has deeply unsettled bodega employees and renewed demands for enhanced safety measures.
