A child was transported to a nearby hospital following a fall from the fifth floor of a NYCHA building in Sheepshead Bay on Wednesday.
An FDNY spokesperson confirmed the incident occurred at 2986 Avenue V, a NYCHA complex. Both the FDNY and NYPD responded to emergency calls around noon. Police reported that the 5-year-old was playing with a toy when the fall happened.
A building resident spoke with a nurse who was present outside at the time of the incident.
According to the police, the child is in a stable condition.
